Plastic fabrication at Cambrian Plastics is enabled by a state of the art production facility, including in house equipment that provides us with a virtually unlimited process ability.

It all begins with Design! Our in house design team works at all levels having experience in fully project managed design, through to “stubby pencil” sketches. We often work with design students and artists on their projects and are happy to work with you in developing your product.   • X-Large format CNC(3mx2m) CNC cutting of acrylic, ACM, custom wood, and a wide range of plastics. This German built and designed machine is specifically designed for the plastics environment however it also gives us the ability to cut materials such as Customwood and ACM.
  • Laser cutting and engraving of a wide range of materials our CO2 Lasers give us the ability to polish edges as we go and make more complex items even as one offs! We can accept most file types pdf, cdr, eps, dxf, dwg… Send your file to us and we can quote cut time and material costs straight away. Bed sizes of 1220×2440 and 1300×900.
  • Folding/ thermal bending of Acrylic Polycarbonate and other thermoplastic materials up to and including 3050m wide and materials up to 20mm thick!
  • Fabrication (3mx2m) of a huge range of items. Our team of fabricators represent over 50 years in the industry if they haven’t done it before, it probably hasn’t been tried!, and they are just looking for an opportunity.
  • Welding fabrication – Our fabrication team has more than 30 years experience in folding and welding of engineering plastics such as Polypropylene, PVC, PetG HDPE. Thermoplastic welding of a range of materials providing the opportunity to custom fabricate a wide range of Ducting, tanks, tubes, trays and electrical enclosures from materials such as PVC, Polypropylene and HDPE.
  • Polishing – Our state of the art diamond polisher will edge polish material up to and including 40mm thick, this service is backed up with traditional flame polishing techniques if required.
  • Moulding – much of New Zealand’s bathroom industry spent its infancy being developed in our moulding shop. Our current moulding process’ includes drape moulding of most materials, press moulding, vacuum moulding and VAPM (Vacuum assisted Press Moulding), we also blow mould a huge range of domes and bowls.
  • Printing on acrylic and other plastics is possible! We provide our clients with the option of personalising their products with either digital direct to substrate printing or laser engraving. Screen printing is also possible but becoming less popular as digital printing becomes more commonplace.
